Cinema Against AIDS Cannes 2010

amfAR’s 17th Cinema Against AIDS gala, held May 20, 2010, during the Cannes International Film Festival, raised more than $6.7 million in support of HIV/AIDS research and drew a crowd of more than 800 to the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France.  Host Alan Cumming entertained the crowd while guests were treated to performances by Mary J. Blige, Patti Smith, and comedian Chris Tucker.  Event Chairs Elizabeth Banks, Emily Blunt, Harvey Weinstein, and a number of other celebrities presided over the spirited live auction.  Other guests included Marc Anthony, Kate Beckinsale, Gerard Butler, Naomi Campbell, Russell Crowe, Marion Cotillard, Ryan Gosling, Mick Jagger, Grace Jones, Diane Kruger, Karl Lagerfeld, Jennifer Lopez, Michelle Williams, and many others.  The event was presented by Bold Films, Palisades Tartan, and The Weinstein Company and co-sponsored by Audi, Chopard, Giorgio Armani, and Hewlett-Packard.
