“Our goal is clear: We want to end HIV as a public health threat by 2030. It’s an ambitious target, but past progress shows us it’s possible: Over the past two decades PEPFAR has saved 25 million lives and helped 5.5 million babies be born HIV-free. But our biggest challenge is maintaining that strong momentum, even after the COVID-19 pandemic decimated health systems around the world. So we are continuing to help countries build their health workforces, forging strong partnerships to build the coalition for action, and are working to secure more sustainable financing to finish the job and end the public health scourge of HIV once and for all.”
