Donata Meirelles comes from one of the most traditional families in Brazil. She started in the fashion industry as an intern at Daslu, a small clothing shop that became a globally recognized department store due to its unique way of selling and buying luxury fashion goods.
Donata joined a sales force comprised of exceptional women from the most well-to-do families in São Paulo. Knowing all of their clients by name and understanding their tastes and preferences, they we able to provide personal service unlike any other boutique in the world. Donata rose up the company ranks to become Daslu’s head buyer. Her fashion savvy and business acumen led L’Officiel France to call her one of the five most important fashion buyers in the world.
The fashion experience and global connections Donata cultivated at Daslu ultimately brought her to Vogue Brasil. As style director, Meirelles has worked tirelessly to grow the publication’s global prestige and has made Vogue Brasil one of the world’s most important and influential authorities in fashion.
Donata is renowned in Brazil for her hospitality, making her one of the country’s most celebrated hosts. From her iconic São Paulo home—known to locals as Casa Amarela—Meirelles entertains VIPs of fashion, entertainment, and politics to help further her many charitable causes. Through her work with the BrazilFoundation, Donata is committed to promoting Brazil’s economic growth and international prominence while also advocating for the responsible use of its natural resources and the development of its people.
